Thanksgiving 2007

We did our turkey dinner at Nana's again this year -- cooked here, transported food to the farm and ate there. As usual, Nana was "surprised" to see us, but she was very welcoming, and we all had a good time. "All" means the two of us, plus the Johnsons, and John, Darby, & Eli. We had natural organic free-range turkey, gluten-free cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, fresh green beans, fresh carrots, and Nana's cranberry salad. She also made a yellow cake with pineapple topping, and Vivian liked it so much she ate 4 pieces!
Cliff and the girls did a lot of hay-roll hopping after lunch, and Orvis & Boone went off to play, too. Princess stayed close to the house. The highlight of the afternoon was the rooting out of a skunk by the dogs, and even a tomato juice bath followed by a dog-shampoo bath couldn't really eliminate the skunky odor and itchy eyes. Boone might want to re-think coming to see Uncle Orvis, because Big O was the main instigator of the skunk episode.
I forgot my camera for the Decatur trip, but got a few at breakfast the next day (notice Clifford-the-snoozer's absence), and on the river walk that John, Courtney & I did with the dogs.

I think I still smell skunk on Boone occasionally. We had a fun time (including Boone), skunking and all!

Yes, Orvis still smells skunky when he gets wet -- and he's had at least 3 baths since Thanksgiving. But whenever we go to the river (most days)he gets wet and the smell arises. Our car reeks, too.
Glad you had fun -- we did, too.
